* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...The following counties, in southeast Indiana, Dearborn, Franklin, Ohio, Ripley and Switzerland, the following counties, in Kentucky, Boone, Bracken, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, Lewis, Mason, Owen, Pendleton and Robertson, and the following counties, in Ohio, Adams, Brown, Butler, Clermont, Clinton, Fairfield, Fayette, Franklin, Hamilton, Highland, Hocking, Licking, Pickaway, Pike, Ross, Scioto and Warren. * WHEN...Until 5 AM EDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Additional rounds of showers, along with embedded thunderstorms will continue to move through the region tonight. Several locations have already received 1.5" to 2.0" of rain through the evening hours. Additional rainfall amounts up to 2.0" are possible overnight, which could result in areas of high water and localized flash flooding.
About
Caldwell Lake Campground sits within the 218-acre Scioto Trail State Park, surrounded by the expansive 9,000-acre Scioto Trail State Forest in southern Ohio near Chillicothe. The campground offers 56 sites along the scenic 18-acre Caldwell Lake, with 40 sites featuring electric hookups. An additional 18 primitive walk-in sites are available at the nearby Stewart Lake Camp Area for those seeking a more rustic experience. The park provides essential amenities including pit toilets, a dump station, water spigots, fire rings, and picnic tables at each campsite. A camp store offers camping supplies, souvenirs, firewood, and seasonal rentals of kayaks, canoes, and paddle boats. Note that there are no showers or flush toilets at this campground. Both Caldwell Lake and the smaller Stewart Lake (5+ acres) are restricted to electric motors only, creating a peaceful environment for paddling and fishing. The park includes a boat launch ramp, three picnic areas with grills, a wading beach open during daylight hours, basketball and horseshoe courts, a playground, and several hiking trails including Caldwell Trail, Firetower Trail, and Friendship Trail. Winter ice fishing is available when conditions permit.
