About

Grave Springs Campground is a small but well-developed BLM campground nestled at the southern end of the Bighorn Mountains in central Wyoming. Located along the South Bighorn/Red Wall Back Country Byway, this free campground offers a peaceful base for exploring the surrounding mountains and backcountry. The campground features 14 total sites: 12 sites accommodate RVs with parking and tent pads, while 2 sites are designated for tent camping only. All sites include picnic tables and fire rings, and the campground is ADA accessible with vault toilet facilities. The setting provides excellent opportunities for small stream fishing, wildlife viewing, hunting, and general outdoor recreation in a scenic mountain environment. As a primitive BLM campground, there is no potable water available, so visitors must bring adequate supplies. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservation system and no fees. Access is via gravel forest roads that are typically closed by snow during winter months, making this a seasonal destination best suited for spring through fall camping.

Directions

From Arminto, take the South Bighorn/Red Wall Back Country Byway north for 13.5 miles to Bighorn Mountain Road. Turn left and go 12 miles north to the campground on the left.
