About

Leigh Creek Campground is located about 35 miles east of Worland, Wyoming, at the bottom of scenic Leigh Canyon in the Bighorn National Forest. The campground sits at 5,400 feet elevation along Tensleep Creek, surrounded by a forest of lodgepole pine. Each of the 11 sites features a picnic table and campfire ring with grill. Vault toilets and potable drinking water from a hand pump are available, and trash collection is provided during the operating season. The campground offers a mix of tent-only sites (Sites 1, 5, 6, 7, 8) and standard nonelectric sites (Sites 2, 3, 4, 10, 11) suitable for small RVs or trailers. Sites are limited to 8 people and 2 vehicles each. Firewood is available for purchase from the camp host. Recreation opportunities abound in the surrounding area, including OHV trail riding, mountain biking, day hiking, and fishing in Tensleep Creek and nearby lakes. Meadowlark Lake is about 11 miles away and allows motorized craft at wake-less speed, while West Tensleep Lake (14 miles) is open to non-motorized craft only. Trails in the area provide access to the Cloud Peak Wilderness.
