About

Grande Ronde Lake Campground is one of three campgrounds in the Anthony Lakes Recreation Area, located at high elevation in the Elkhorn Mountains of northeastern Oregon. The campground sits above Grande Ronde Lake in a cool pine-fir forest, providing scenic views of the lake and meadow below. The campground offers 8 tent and trailer sites, three of which are ADA accessible. Each site has a picnic table and access to vault toilets. No potable water is available, so campers must bring their own supply. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Grande Ronde Lake is popular for fishing and canoeing, with only non-motorized boats permitted on the water. The area also provides excellent opportunities for day hiking, wildlife viewing, and outdoor photography. Quiet hours are enforced from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Directions

From Baker City, head north on Highway 30 toward Haines for approximately 10 miles. In Haines, turn left and follow Anthony Lake Highway signs (becomes Forest Road 73) for 25 miles to Anthony Lake Recreation Area. Go past the ski area for about 1 mile to Forest Road 43, then after 0.5 miles turn left at the campground entrance sign. The campground is to the left at the road junction.
