Baptism River Campground sits inland from Highway 61 within the 9,000-acre Tettegouche State Park, one of Minnesota's premier North Shore destinations. The campground features 28 drive-in sites, with 22 offering 20- and 50-amp electric hookups capable of accommodating RVs up to 60 feet. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring with grill. Modern amenities include flush toilets and hot showers that remain operational year-round, making this the only Minnesota state park campground with heated winter facilities. The park surrounds the Baptism River, home to Minnesota's highest waterfall, the 60-foot High Falls, accessible via a 1.5-mile hike from the campground area. Six inland lakes offer fishing opportunities, while the Superior Hiking Trail passes through the park. Beyond drive-in camping, Tettegouche offers 13 cart-in sites closer to Lake Superior and historic hike-in cabins at Tettegouche Camp on Mic Mac Lake. Reservations can be made up to 120 days in advance through the Minnesota state parks reservation system. A vehicle permit is required for park entry. The campground's year-round operation and winter-ready facilities make it popular for both summer camping and winter outdoor adventures, with the park occasionally hosting Winter Camping 101 programs.

Directions

From Silver Bay, the park entrance is located on Highway 61 approximately 4.5 miles northeast. The campground is situated inland from the main park entrance.
