About

Tettegouche State Park Group Campground provides a secluded group camping experience in one of Minnesota's most spectacular North Shore parks. The campground features two cart-in tent-only group sites located approximately 100 yards from the parking area, with wheeled carts available to transport gear. The sites are situated in mature forest inland from Lake Superior, offering a quiet, wooded atmosphere with strong separation from other camping areas. The park encompasses diverse terrain including a mile of Lake Superior shoreline, the cascading Baptism River with its 60-foot High Falls (the highest waterfall fully within Minnesota), four inland lakes, and rugged semi-mountainous topography covered by undisturbed northern hardwood forest. The campground serves as a base for exploring 23 miles of hiking trails that connect to the Superior Hiking Trail, rocky cliffs at Shovel Point, and numerous scenic overlooks. The group sites are equipped with vault toilets, picnic tables, and fire rings. Campers should note that the nearest potable water is located at the park office 1.5 miles away, requiring advance planning. The park also features the historic Tettegouche Camp on Mic Mac Lake, year-round cabin rentals, and a visitor center with 24-hour restroom access.
