About

Golden Currant Campground is a modest Bureau of Land Management facility situated along the scenic North Platte River near Alcova, Wyoming. This tent-only campground offers four overnight campsites available on a first-come, first-served basis, making it an ideal destination for anglers and campers seeking a quiet riverside experience. The campground provides basic amenities including vault toilets, fire rings, and picnic tables at each site. A short pedestrian trail offers easy access to the river for bank fishing, and the parking area accommodates day-use visitors as well. The North Platte River at this location is known for excellent fishing opportunities, and the area also serves as a launching point for exploring the surrounding high desert landscape. Campers should note that no water is available at this campground, so all drinking water must be packed in. The facility is restricted to tent camping only, with no RV or trailer hookups. At $10 per night for overnight camping and free day use, Golden Currant provides an affordable and peaceful camping experience along one of Wyoming's premier waterways.
