Sunshine Beach Campground is located at Seminoe State Park on the northwest side of Seminoe Reservoir at the base of the Seminoe Mountains. The campground features 38 campsites with gravel pads, picnic tables, and fire rings. The shoreline at Sunshine Beach offers both rocky areas and sandy coves, providing varied access to the 19,000-acre reservoir. The park was established in 1965 and is named after Basil Cimineau Lajeunesse, a French trapper who worked in the area during the 1800s. Seminoe Reservoir spans 21 miles and is fed by the North Platte and Medicine Bow Rivers. The area is popular for boating, fishing for walleye and trout, and wildlife viewing including pronghorn, elk, mule deer, and bald eagles. Sunshine Beach provides beach access for day use and camping, with the campground accessible via a rough 31-mile gravel road from the highway. Winter visitors can enjoy ice fishing when conditions allow, and wildlife viewing is particularly good during colder months.

Directions

Sunshine Beach Campground is located within Seminoe State Park, approximately 35 miles north of Sinclair, Wyoming, off County Road 351. From Sinclair, take County Road 351 northward, following signs to Seminoe State Park. Upon entering the park, follow the main road to the Sunshine Beach area.
