About

Chalk Bluffs Campground is a Bureau of Land Management recreation site situated along the North Platte River in Natrona County, Wyoming. The campground provides access to quality fishing waters and scenic river canyon terrain characterized by dramatic chalk-colored bluffs. With 11 overnight camping sites, the area serves both tent campers and RV users seeking a primitive camping experience. Each campsite includes a tent pad, picnic table, and fire ring. The campground features a vault toilet, boat ramp, and a parking area large enough to accommodate vehicles with drift boat trailers. No potable water is available on-site, so campers must bring an adequate supply. Sites are first-come, first-served with no advance reservations. The campground is managed by the BLM Casper Field Office and is located approximately 7 miles east of Alcova off Highway 220. The area is popular with anglers targeting trout in the North Platte River tailwater section below Alcova Reservoir.
