Gentry Creek Campground sits along the beaches of Eufaula Lake in the green hills of Oklahoma, offering 26 campsites spread out along the lake shore. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, this cozy campground provides a mix of electric and non-electric sites, with approximately half offering 30-amp electrical hookups and a couple of pull-through sites available. The facility includes flush toilets, showers, and a boat ramp for easy lake access. Eufaula Lake is the largest lake located entirely in the state of Oklahoma, with over 600 miles of shoreline and 102,000 surface acres of water. Completed in 1964 on the Canadian River and dedicated by President Lyndon B. Johnson, the lake has long been recognized for its outstanding fishing. Crappie, sand bass, catfish, and black bass reach record sizes, while striped bass over 40 pounds have been caught in the tailwaters below the dam. The shoreline ranges from vast expanses of sandy beaches to rocky bluffs, with especially beautiful scenery during the fall months when the hills display vivid autumn colors. Boating, kayaking, and hiking are popular activities, with trails winding throughout the hills and along the shoreline. Nearby attractions include Robber's Cave State Park and other state parks on Eufaula Lake, offering golf courses, swimming pools, and additional trails. The historic town of Eufaula features antique shops and restaurants for those seeking off-site entertainment.
