About

Gamaliel Campground is an Army Corps of Engineers facility located on the Bennetts Bayou area of Norfork Lake in northern Arkansas. The campground offers 64 sites with electric hookups and drinking water, most shaded beneath tall hardwood trees while others come equipped with canopies to shade picnic tables. The facility includes a boat ramp, playground, swim beach, marina, and a mile-long nature trail that loops through the campground. Norfork Lake stems from the North Fork River and cuts through the Ozark Mountains, creating over 550 miles of shoreline across 22,000 acres. The lake offers secluded coves ideal for water sports and open stretches perfect for sailing. Scuba diving is popular here, attracting divers from neighboring states. Fishing is exceptional, with the lake stocked annually and striped bass over 40 pounds regularly caught. The Ozarks' heavily eroded plateau supports a diverse array of plants and animals. The campground is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and is part of a network of 19 well-maintained parks around Norfork Lake. Nearby attractions include Ozark National Forest to the south and Bull Shoals Lake to the west. The facility is accessed via paved roads from Mountain Home, traveling east on US 412/62, north on SR 101, and southeast on CR 42.
