Dam Quarry Campground sits at the base of Norfork Dam where the North Fork River flows through the forested Ozark hills of northern Arkansas. Operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the campground has 68 campsites with electric and water hookups, many positioned directly along the riverbank. The cold tailwaters below the dam create prime habitat for rainbow and brown trout, making this one of Arkansas's most sought-after fishing destinations. Facilities include flush restrooms, hot-water showers, drinking water, two sanitary dump stations, and trash service. Each site has a paved pad with a picnic table, fire ring, and lantern hanger. Two boat ramps provide direct river access, with a marina located just above the dam. Playgrounds and a designated swimming area round out the amenities. The Norfork Lake region offers additional recreation including water skiing, canoeing, and scuba diving on the 22,000-acre reservoir. Public lands around the lake provide hunting opportunities for white-tailed deer, wild turkey, squirrel, rabbit, and quail. The small town of Norfork is three miles northeast, and the Ozark National Forest lies a short drive south.

Directions

From Mountain Home, AR, take State Route 5 south 14 miles to Salesville, then turn left on State Route 177 for 2 miles. Park is located below Norfork Dam. Follow signs into the campground.
