About
Fritch Fortress sits atop a dramatic caprock formation with sweeping views of Lake Meredith and the surrounding Texas Panhandle landscape. The campground provides 15 first-come, first-served sites and caters to boaters, swimmers, and campers seeking easy lake access. Facilities include a restroom building with flush toilets, hot showers, and potable water available year-round, plus an RV dump station and trash collection. Each site features a picnic table, shade shelter, and grill for cooking. The paved road through the campground offers pull-through parking suitable for larger RVs and trailers. Campfires are permitted only in the provided grills and existing fire rings. Campers may stay up to 14 consecutive days within any 30-day period, with a maximum of 60 days per calendar year. The Texas Panhandle weather can be unpredictable, with cold, windy winters and hot, dry summers. Bringing a jacket is recommended even in summer months due to frequent wind. Pets are welcome but must remain leashed at all times. Quiet hours are enforced from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
