About
Blue West Campground occupies a dramatic caprock setting overlooking Lake Meredith in the Texas Panhandle. Located north of the lake off FM Road 1913, this primitive campground offers 19 sites on a first-come, first-served basis with no fees and no reservations required. The elevated terrain provides sweeping views of the lake and is particularly popular for watching sunsets, though the caprock bluffs make shoreline access challenging. Facilities are basic: vault toilets, picnic tables, and shade shelters are available, but there is no potable water, dump station, or hookups. Campers must bring their own water and pack accordingly for a primitive experience. Campfires are permitted only in existing fire rings and elevated grills. RVs and trailers are allowed, though the unpaved road through the campground may pose challenges for very large rigs or those requiring accessible facilities. The campground enforces quiet hours from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. and limits stays to 14 consecutive nights within any 30-day period, with a maximum of 60 camping nights per year. Pets are welcome but must remain leashed at all times.
