About

The Farm House at Fort Ridgely State Park provides a unique rustic lodging experience in Minnesota's Renville County. This historic structure sleeps six people in one bedroom containing three double beds, two of which are bunked. The unit features modern comforts including heating, air conditioning, and a dorm-sized refrigerator, though indoor cooking is prohibited. Guests receive a combination lock code via email for self-check-in and must bring their own bedding and linens. Outdoor amenities include a picnic table, pedestal grill, and fire ring with grill for all cooking needs. The farmhouse has no indoor plumbing; a primitive toilet is located nearby, showers are available at the adjacent equestrian campground, and potable water comes from an outdoor spigot. Parking accommodates up to three vehicles. The property sits near the Fair Ridge Trail, offering convenient equestrian and hiking access. Fort Ridgely State Park itself preserves the historic fort site from the Dakota War of 1862 and features additional amenities including a CCC-built picnic shelter, amphitheater, and trout-stocked creek.
