Flandrau State Park Cabins

Open — Open year-round for cabin reservations. Seasonal facilities including the shower building and beach house operate during warmer months. Primitive vault toilets available year-round.

About

Flandrau State Park offers two heated camper cabins available year-round in the semi-modern campground area. These rustic one-room wooden cabins measure 12x16 feet and accommodate up to six people. Each cabin includes wooden bunkbeds with mattresses, a table, benches, electricity, heat, and a screened porch. An outdoor picnic table and fire ring with grate are provided for cooking and grilling. The cabins do not have indoor plumbing but are located within walking distance of the seasonal shower building with flush toilets. Year-round primitive vault toilets are available. Campers must bring their own linens, pillows, and cooking equipment. No cooking is allowed inside the cabins except for crockpots and coffeepots. The park is nestled in the shaded bluffs of southern Minnesota along the Cottonwood River. Amenities include a unique chlorinated sand-bottom swimming pond, playground, hiking trails through floodplain forest, and canoe/kayak access to the river. The park also features historic WPA-era stone buildings from the 1930s. Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing are popular winter activities.
