Forked Run State Park Group Campground is situated in the scenic Appalachian foothills of southeastern Ohio, within a 791-acre park characterized by forested hills, a picturesque 102-acre lake, and proximity to the Ohio River. Created from Shade River State Forest in 1951, the park opened to the public in 1952 when the dam was completed. The group camping area is positioned on ridges overlooking the valley of Forked Run Lake, providing a rural setting with abundant wildlife and scenic vistas. The park's location in the heart of Appalachia offers colorful history and natural beauty for group camping experiences. Beyond the group campground, the park features a swimming beach, boat ramps for lake access, hiking trails, a disc golf course, and picnic facilities. The park borders Shade River State Forest and sits along Ohio State Route 124, making it accessible for groups seeking outdoor recreation in southeastern Ohio.
