Florida Caverns State Park Campground is situated within a 1,500-acre park that's home to Florida's only state park offering guided cave tours through dry limestone caverns. The campground features two distinct areas: the Blue Hole Campground with 32 sites offering full hookups (30/50-amp electric, water, and sewer), and the Equestrian Campground with 6 sites (3 RV sites with electric and water, 3 primitive tent sites) plus horse stables and access to multi-use trails. All campsites include a picnic table, in-ground grill, and fire ring. Restrooms with showers are available in both camping areas. The park's signature attraction is the guided cave tour through stunning underground formations including stalactites, stalagmites, and flowstones. Additional amenities include swimming at the 35-foot deep Blue Hole, paddling on the Chipola River, over 8 miles of trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding, and a historic visitor center built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1942. The park sustained significant damage from Hurricane Michael in 2018, losing over 90% of its canopy, but has reopened most amenities and the forest is recovering. The campground is located about 2 miles from the main road, providing a quiet, peaceful setting with abundant wildlife including deer.
