Chattahoochee Park sits on the shores of Lake Seminole in Decatur County, Georgia, offering day-use recreation rather than traditional overnight camping. The park features three reservable picnic shelters that can accommodate group gatherings, each equipped with electricity, potable water, eight picnic tables, and a grill. Restrooms are within walking distance of all shelters. Lake Seminole is renowned as one of the best sports fishing destinations in America, with 37,500 acres of water and 376 miles of shoreline. The lake supports over 79 fish species including largemouth, hybrid, striped and white bass, catfish, crappie, and bream. The park provides a boat ramp for lake access along with pier and bank fishing opportunities. Recreational facilities vary by shelter location: Turkey Flight Shelter sits near a playground, tennis court, and basketball court, while Swim Beach Shelter is adjacent to a sand volleyball court. The surrounding pine and hardwood forest supports diverse wildlife including bald eagles, hawks, alligators, raccoons, and gopher tortoises.

Directions

From Hwy 90 in Chattahoochee, FL, turn at North Bolivar Street which becomes Booster Club Road. Continue 2 miles. At the Y on Booster Club Road, stay left following the directional sign. At the park entrance, Swim Beach Shelter is to the left. Ramp Shelter and Turkey Flight Shelter are to the right.
