About
Chattahoochee Park is located on Lake Seminole in Southwest Georgia, where the Chattahoochee and Flint Rivers meet to form a 37,500-acre reservoir with 376 miles of shoreline. The park is primarily a day-use facility featuring three reservable picnic shelters, each with eight picnic tables, grills, electricity, and potable water. The Ramp Shelter, Turkey Flight Shelter, and Swim Beach Shelter offer spectacular views of the lake and serve as base camps for outdoor recreation.
Lake Seminole is renowned as one of America's best sports fishing destinations. Extensive stump and grass beds provide abundant cover for largemouth, hybrid, striped, and white bass, along with sizable populations of catfish, crappie, and bream. The park features a boat ramp for lake access, multiple spots for bank fishing, and fishing piers. Recreational amenities include a playground, tennis court, basketball court, and sand volleyball court. The surrounding pine and hardwood forest is home to diverse wildlife including alligators, bald eagles, hawks, and various waterfowl.
The park offers restroom facilities within walking distance of all shelters and provides opportunities for hiking, biking, birding, and wildlife photography. One shelter is only available April 1 through September 30, and despite its name, there is no swim beach at this location.
Directions
From Highway 90 in Chattahoochee, FL, turn at North Bolivar Street, which becomes Booster Club Road. Continue for 2 miles and stay left at the Y following directional signs. At the park entrance, Swim Beach Shelter is to the left, while Ramp Shelter and Turkey Flight Shelter are to the right.
