Seminole State Park

Open — The campground is currently undergoing renovation with partial operations. Some campsites remain available for reservation while work continues. Cottages, day-use areas, trails, boating, and swimming facilities are fully operational.

About

Located in the extreme southwest corner of Georgia, Seminole State Park occupies 1,478 acres along the shores of Lake Seminole, a 37,500-acre reservoir formed by the confluence of the Chattahoochee and Flint Rivers. The park preserves remnants of the primitive longleaf wiregrass ecology that once dominated the region. The campground features 50 tent, trailer, and RV campsites, many positioned near the water's edge offering direct lake access and excellent views. Because the park surrounds a small protected cove, visitors enjoy smooth water ideal for skiing, tubing, and paddling. A sand swimming beach, three boat ramps, and a fishing dock provide ample water access. Kayak and canoe rentals are available on-site. Wildlife viewing is exceptional at Seminole. A 2.2-mile nature trail passes gopher tortoise burrows and traverses one of the largest longleaf pine forests in Georgia's state park system. Observant visitors may spot alligators, osprey, bald eagles, and diverse waterfowl. The park's location near Lake Seminole Wildlife Management Area makes it a prime base for exploring southwest Georgia's natural areas.
