About
Rays Lake Park is an Army Corps of Engineers facility located on Lake Seminole in Southwest Georgia. The park provides access to one of the best sports fishing lakes in America, with extensive stump and grass beds that support largemouth, hybrid, striped and white bass, along with catfish, crappie and bream. Over 79 species of fish have been identified in the 37,500-acre lake.
The campground offers electric hookups and restroom facilities within walking distance of camping areas. A boat ramp provides direct lake access, and a fishing pier with stair and ramp access is available. The park includes picnic tables and grills. Pine and hardwood forests cover the rolling hills surrounding the lake, creating habitat for diverse wildlife including raccoons, alligators, ring-necked ducks, canvasbacks, scaup, hawks, bald eagles, black vultures, tortoises and snakes.
Campers should note that no potable water is available on-site and must bring an adequate supply. The park offers opportunities for fishing, boating, birding, picnicking, hiking, biking and wildlife viewing along the 376 miles of Lake Seminole shoreline.
