Clear Creek Group Campground sits at 8,500 feet elevation in the Santa Fe National Forest, less than two hours from Albuquerque. The group campground occupies the last loop of the Clear Creek Campground complex, positioned alongside the serene Clear Creek in the shade of evergreen ponderosa pines and Engelmann spruce. The group site accommodates larger parties with a 40-foot diameter shelter, 5 standard parking spaces, 1 bus or RV parking space, 3 tent pads, and 2 RV or trailer-length camping units. The setting provides respite from the heat with cool mountain air and the majesty of the Jemez Mountains as a backdrop. Anglers can fish in Clear Creek, the Rio de las Vacas, and San Gregorio Reservoir. Hikers have access to numerous trails in the nearby San Pedro Parks Wilderness. Wildlife including black bears, mule deer, elk, and diverse bird species inhabit the area. The campground is located approximately 11 miles east of Cuba, New Mexico on State Highway 126, where lodging, restaurants, and gas stations are available.
