Hazardous traveling conditions. Use extra caution while driving. Closures and disruptions to infrastructure may occur. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday morning and evening commutes, especially over higher passes.

Fawn Creek Camp is a primitive campground managed by the U.S. Forest Service within the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests in north-central Idaho. The campground sits in a remote forested area of Clearwater County, providing access to the surrounding wilderness and backcountry recreation opportunities. As a dispersed or minimally developed forest service site, Fawn Creek Camp offers basic camping amenities typical of remote USFS locations. The campground provides a quiet, secluded setting for campers seeking a more primitive experience in the national forest. The Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests encompass over 4 million acres of diverse terrain including rugged canyons, dense cedar forests, rivers, and rolling hills. The region offers abundant opportunities for hiking, fishing, wildlife viewing, and exploring Idaho's backcountry.

Directions

From Reedsport, Oregon, take Highway 101 north for 0.25 miles. Turn right onto Smith River Road and travel approximately 25 miles to the site. There is no sign at the site, only an old road that parallels the main road between the road and the river.
