About

Weitas Campground is a small, rustic campground situated approximately 35 miles northeast of Pierce, Idaho, along Forest Service Road 250. The campground occupies a scenic location on the shady banks of Weitas Creek, just south of the North Fork of the Clearwater River. Access requires crossing the Weitas Creek Bridge. With only six campsites available, this no-fee campground is quite popular and tends to fill quickly during the peak summer recreation season. The campground's primary appeal lies in its excellent fishing access and trail connections. Trail #20 departs directly from the campground, running south and then east along the creek, providing miles of first-class bank fishing opportunities. The trail eventually junctions with FSR 500, the famous Lolo Motorway, offering connections to the broader backcountry trail system. Campers should note that no drinking water is available on-site, and visitors must pack out all trash as there are no garbage services. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations.
