About

Weitas Campground is a small, free campground nestled along the shady banks of Weitas Creek in the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests. Located about 35 miles northeast of Pierce via Forest Service Road 250, the campground sits just south of the North Fork of the Clearwater River, accessed by crossing a bridge. With only six campsites, Weitas fills quickly during peak summer season. The campground serves as a trailhead for Trail #20, which runs south and east along Weitas Creek, offering miles of first-class bank fishing opportunities before eventually connecting to FSR 500 (the historic Lolo Motorway). Visitors can also enjoy swimming and non-motorized boating. This is a primitive, pack-it-in/pack-it-out facility with vault toilets but no potable water, trash service, or other amenities. Campers must bring all water and supplies and remove all garbage when leaving.

Directions
