About
Bungalow Camp refers to the area surrounding the historic Bungalow Ranger Station site on the North Fork Clearwater River in Clearwater County, Idaho. Originally established as a Civilian Conservation Corps camp (designated F-193, Company 603) in 1936, this remote location served as an important administrative and work site during the CCC era. The historic ranger station is now used primarily as a landmark for navigation along Forest Service Road 250. The area sits within the North Fork Ranger District of the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests, surrounded by rugged mountain terrain and dense forests. The North Fork Clearwater River offers excellent fishing and class III-IV whitewater opportunities. Access is via FSR 250, a gravel road that continues northeast from Pierce toward Superior, Montana. Road conditions are highly seasonal, with snow blocking access from late fall through late spring. This is not a developed campground with designated sites or maintained facilities. Dispersed camping may be available in the general area under standard National Forest regulations, including a 14-day stay limit. Campers should be fully self-sufficient and prepared for primitive backcountry conditions.
