About

Fall River State Park occupies a scenic corridor where the oak-studded Cross Timbers meet the open grasslands of the Flint Hills. Located near Toronto in Greenwood County, the park wraps around portions of Fall River Lake, a 2,500-acre Army Corps of Engineers reservoir known for good catfish, crappie, largemouth bass, and walleye fishing. Camping is spread across several areas including Casner Creek, Quarry Bay, and Fredonia Bay. Utility sites offer electric and water hookups, while primitive sites provide a more rustic experience. Three modern cabins at Gobbler's Knob include full kitchens, bathrooms with showers, covered outdoor shelters, fire rings, and picnic tables. Developed campgrounds feature modern restrooms and showers, with vault toilets available in more remote areas. Six hiking trails wind through the park, including the short ADA-accessible Overlook Trail. An orienteering course provides navigation practice. Water activities include swimming, water skiing, and motorboating, with canoe rentals available nearby in Eureka.
