Cross Timbers State Park encompasses 1,075 acres in the rolling hills of the Verdigris River Valley in southeast Kansas, providing multiple access points to the 2,800-acre Toronto Reservoir. Named for the Cross Timbers ecosystem that early pioneers encountered, the park features forested floodplains surrounded by terraces of prairie and hills of oak savannah, showcasing some of the most diverse flora and fauna in Kansas. This region was historically a favored hunting and camping ground for the Osage Nation. The park offers a variety of camping options including sites with full hookups, partial hookups, and primitive camping areas. Shaded campsites provide easy lake access, with select sites offering year-round full hookups in the Osage Plains and East Ramp areas, while Timber Ridge Campground provides electric and water hookups year-round. Four rustic lakeside cabins are available in the Toronto Point area, including the ADA-accessible Timber Walker Cabin. Outdoor recreation abounds with 16 miles of nature trails for hiking and mountain biking through picturesque terrain. Toronto Reservoir is noted for excellent fishing opportunities for channel catfish, white bass, sunfish, bluegill, and black bass. The park provides boat ramps, fishing piers, and frost-free hydrants at various locations. Additional amenities include modern restrooms with showers, laundry facilities, playgrounds, and a camp store.

Cross Timbers State Park is located 12 miles west of Yates Center in Woodson County, south of Toronto, KS. From the intersection of Highway 54 and Highway 105, travel south on Highway 105 for approximately 3 miles to reach the park entrance.
