Eureka Campground is a US Army Corps of Engineers facility situated on the shores of Lake Barkley in Lyon County, Kentucky. The campground features 26 sites nestled among wooded rolling hills, with water and electric hookups available. Amenities include flush toilets, hot showers, a dump station, playground, boat ramp, and a designated swimming area. A group picnic shelter accommodates up to 100 guests. Fishing is a major draw here; Kentucky's state-record yellow bass was caught in Lake Barkley, and anglers continue to flock to these waters. The 2.5-mile Chestnut Oaks Trail starts at the campground for hikers and bikers. Lake Barkley connects via canal to Kentucky Lake, forming one of the largest freshwater recreation complexes in the nation. Nearby attractions include Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area with over 170,000 acres of public land, and Fort Donelson National Battlefield, site of the Union Army's first major Civil War victory. From Nashville, take I-24 West to Exit 40. Turn left onto Highway 62 West for 2.9 miles, then turn left onto Highway 810. Go 0.7 miles, then turn right onto State Route 1271. Continue 1.8 miles directly into the campground. Physical address: 1802 St. Rt. 1271, Kuttawa, KY 42055.
