About

Situated along a peninsula between the lush shorelines of Lake Barkley and Kentucky Lake, Canal Campground offers modern camping in one of Kentucky's premier water recreation areas. The campground provides stunning views of the Barkley Dam and boats traveling through the canal that connects these two great lakes, forming one of the largest freshwater recreational complexes in the country. The campground features 111 sites with electric hookups, modern bathhouses with hot showers and flush toilets, a dump station, playground, and pavilion. Sites include picnic tables and fire rings. The peninsula location provides water access and scenic views from most sites. A short hiking trail allows campers to explore the natural scenery at their leisure. Eagle nests can be spotted throughout the grounds, and deer sightings are common. During warm months, bass and catfish fishing is excellent in both lakes. The campground is located just a short drive from Grand Rivers, which offers restaurants and marinas. Lake Barkley spans 134 miles along the Kentucky landscape, providing countless recreational opportunities for boating, fishing, and water sports.
