Open and accepting reservations through Recreation.gov. Check-in is 3 PM, check-out is 12 PM (noon). Camping equipment cannot occupy a single site for more than 14 days within any 30-consecutive-day period. Firewood must be certified heat-treated to prevent forest pest spread.

About
Canal Campground occupies one of the most scenic locations in the Land Between the Lakes region, positioned on a narrow peninsula where Lake Barkley meets Kentucky Lake via a canal. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District, the campground offers stunning views of Barkley Dam and boats traveling through the canal. The shoreline of Kentucky Lake is a one-mile walk across the canal. The campground features over 130 sites spread across multiple loops including Primitive, Woods, Fisherman's Row, Beach, Hill, and The Flats. Site types range from basic tent camping to full-hookup RV sites with 30/50 amp electric service. Many sites offer water and electric hookups, while select sites include sewer connections. Pull-through sites accommodate large RVs up to 59 feet on some sites. Facilities include flush restrooms, showers, a dump station, picnic pavilions, playground, designated swimming beach, boat ramp with trailer parking, and a fishing float. A short hiking trail winds through the grounds. The nearby town of Grand Rivers offers restaurants and two public marinas within a short drive.

From Interstate I-24, take Grand Rivers Exit 31. Drive south on Highway 453 for approximately 4 miles. Turn left onto J.H. O'Bryan Avenue for 0.1 miles. Turn right onto Canal Campground Road for 0.5 miles.
