Alcohol Prohibitions
This Order describes acts that are prohibited upon lands, roads and trails within the National Forest System administered by the Forest Service Pacific Northwest Region in regards to alcoholic beverages.
Aquatic Invasive Species
This Order prohibits 1) possessing, storing, or transporting any aquatic invasive animal species AND 2) prohibits possessing, storing, or transporting any aquatic or riparian invasive plant species - on National Forest System lands in the Pacific Northwest Region as specified in the Order.
Restrictions on Use of Forage and Mulch Products

Eightmile Campground is located in the eastern portion of Mount Hood National Forest along Forest Road 4430, accessible via Forest Road 44 (the 44 Trail System corridor). This primitive campground caters to those seeking a quiet base for exploring the area's trail network, particularly the Eightmile Loop Trail #496, which begins at the campground and offers approximately 6 miles of terrain suitable for hiking and mountain biking. The campground provides basic amenities with vault toilets but no potable water, so visitors must pack in all drinking water. Sites accommodate vehicles up to 30 feet in length. The surrounding area features the 44 Trails Association-maintained trail system, which offers extensive multi-use opportunities including connections to other trails in the network. The campground typically operates from late May through mid-October, weather permitting. A short interpretive trail connects Eightmile Campground to the nearby Lower Eightmile Crossing Campground, offering an easy walk to explore the local ecosystem.
Directions
From Hood River, OR: Drive approximately 25 miles south on Highway 35. Turn left onto Forest Road 44 and drive about 10 miles. Turn left onto Forest Road 4430. The campground is on the right side of FR 4430. From Dufur, OR: Follow Dufur Valley Road to the forest boundary where it becomes Forest Road 44. Continue on FR 44 and turn right onto FR 4430. The campground is on the right (total distance approximately 17.5 miles).
