East Weaver Group Campground
The campground operates seasonally from May through September. Currently showing as first-come-first-served for May 8-10, 2026, then closed May 11 onward. Operated by Shasta Recreation Company.
About
East Weaver Group Campground sits at the end of East Weaver Road, about 3.5 miles from Weaverville, nestled among trees along East Weaver Creek. The campground is designed for group use and is rented as a single unit, making it ideal for hiking clubs, scout troops, or family reunions. Each of the 10 individual sites has a picnic table and stove/grill, with vault toilets and drinking water available. The campground's primary draw is its proximity to the Trinity Alps Wilderness. Multiple trailheads are within a short walk, providing access to alpine lakes, granite peaks, and backcountry trails. While primarily suited for tent camping, small trailers up to 35 feet can fit in about 30% of the dirt spurs. The paved access road makes arrival straightforward. Weaverville is just 1.5 miles away for fuel, groceries, bait, and restaurants. Amplified sound is prohibited to preserve the peaceful atmosphere.
Directions
From Weaverville, take Hwy 3 north for 2 miles. Turn left on Road 228. Campground is 1.5 miles on the left.
