About

Rush Creek Campground is a small, peaceful campground located in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest, eight miles north of Weaverville off Highway 3. The campground stretches along Rush Creek among Douglas fir, oak, and maple trees, with the soothing sound of the creek heard throughout. The facility offers 8 first-come, first-served campsites that are well separated, providing good privacy for campers. Each campsite includes a fire ring and picnic table, and some sites feature a Klamath Oven for cooking. The campground road and spurs are unpaved, adding to the rustic experience. Fishing for brook trout is available in Rush Creek. Vault toilets are provided, but campers must bring their own water as no potable water is available on-site. The campground is managed by Vista (formerly Shasta Recreation Company) and operates seasonally from the week prior to Memorial Day Weekend through October 31st. Sites cost $10 per night with an additional $6 fee for extra vehicles. The campground is accessible via a half-mile turn off Highway 3 and is located along the Trinity Heritage Scenic Byway.
