About

Stoney Group Campground occupies a shaded spot along Stoney Creek where it feeds into the Stuart Fork Arm of Trinity Lake at 2,370 feet elevation in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest. This single group site can host up to 50 people and 20 vehicles, making it well-suited for family reunions, scout troops, or large camping groups. The site features flush toilets, potable water, a group pedestal grill with fire ring, and multiple picnic tables. Bear-proof food lockers are provided as bears frequent the area. The campground is adjacent to Stoney Creek Swim Area, which offers a beach and additional picnic facilities. A boat ramp and marina are located just half a mile away, providing easy access to Trinity Lake for boating, fishing, and watersports. Anglers can target catfish, bass, trout, and salmon. The surrounding Trinity Alps offer scenic mountain views and wildlife including black bears, bobcats, and mountain lions. The nearby town of Weaverville, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, offers restaurants, shopping, and self-guided walking tours of this former mining town.
