About
Fawn Group Campground sits on the scenic Stuart Fork arm of Trinity Lake within Shasta-Trinity National Forest, offering direct lake access in a heavily shaded setting of oaks, Douglas firs, and pines. The campground features two reservable group loops (B and C), each accommodating up to 100 people across 19 individual campsites. Every site includes a picnic table and fire ring, with group fire grills and bear-proof food lockers provided for each loop. The campground provides flush toilets and potable drinking water from faucets throughout. Paved roads lead to unpaved spurs that can accommodate RVs up to 30-40 feet. A boat ramp and marina are located just 1 mile away, and the popular Stoney Creek Swim Area offers a beach and picnic facilities nearby. The historic mining town of Weaverville, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is only a 20-minute drive away and offers restaurants, shopping, and self-guided walking tours. Popular activities include fishing, swimming, boating, hiking, and other watersports on Trinity Lake.
Directions
From Weaverville, take State Route 3 north for 14.4 miles. Take the Fawn exit. Campground is located 1/4 mile from the exit.
