About

Fawn Group Campground sits on the Stuart Fork Arm of Trinity Lake in Shasta-Trinity National Forest, the largest national forest in California. This popular group campground features three loops: Loop A serves as an overflow parking area, while Loops B and C each accommodate up to 100 people and contain 19 separate campsites with tables and fire grills. The campground provides bear-proof food lockers, flush toilets, and drinking water. Sites are well-shaded by oaks, Douglas firs, and pines, with paved roads throughout the campground and unpaved spurs that accommodate RVs between 30-40 feet. The location offers direct lake access and is situated just 1 mile from a boat ramp and marina. Nearby Stoney Creek Swim Area provides a beach and picnic facilities. Popular activities include fishing, swimming, boating, watersports, and hiking. Trinity Lake features 365 miles of shoreline surrounded by steep mountains covered in manzanita and evergreens. The historic town of Weaverville, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is only 20 minutes away and offers restaurants, shopping, and self-guided walking tours.
