About
Tannery Gulch Campground is located 12 miles north of Weaverville on Highway 3, nestled on the shores of Trinity Lake at 2,370 feet elevation in Shasta-Trinity National Forest. The campground has four loops (A, B, C, D) set among a pleasant mix of conifers and deciduous trees. Campsites in loops B, C, and D offer scenic lake views, while Loop A is more wooded. Sites are relatively close together with minimal privacy. All sites include a picnic table and fire ring with grill; some sites have bear-resistant food lockers. Flush toilets and potable water are available. The campground includes a single-lane boat ramp and swim beach reserved exclusively for registered campers. An amphitheater seats 150 and hosts ranger programs during summer months. Trinity Lake offers excellent fishing for trout, bass, and catfish. Other popular activities include power boating, sailing, water skiing, and swimming. The half-mile Trail of the Trees nature trail begins at the campground. The historic mining town of Weaverville is nearby with restaurants, shopping, and self-guided walking tours.
Directions
From Weaverville, take Highway 3 north for 10.5 miles. Take the Tannery Gulch exit. The campground is located 1 mile from the exit.
