About

Cooper Gulch Campground is a small, intimate campground located on the eastern shore of Lewiston Lake, approximately 4 miles north of Lewiston and 17 miles from Weaverville. The five paved campsites are nestled among a mixed forest of conifers and deciduous trees, with abundant wildflowers in season. Every site offers views of the lake and includes a picnic table and fire ring. Lewiston Lake is known for its calm waters due to a 10 mph speed limit, making it ideal for fishing, kayaking, and canoeing. The lake holds rainbow and brown trout, and the campground's waterfront location provides excellent shore fishing and easy launch access for small watercraft. The Baker Gulch Trail starts at the adjacent day-use area for those wanting to explore on foot. Note that potable water is not available at this campground; campers must bring their own water supply. The facility features a paved, wheelchair-accessible vault restroom. A camp host is typically on-site during the operating season.
