About

East Shore Recreation Site is a small BLM campground situated on the eastern shore of Loon Lake in Oregon's Coast Mountain Range. The campground features 6 shady campsites, including one universally accessible site, set among towering Douglas fir, western hemlock, and western red cedar trees. All sites include barbecue grills, fire pits, and tables. Vault toilets are provided but campers must bring their own water. A small day use area with lake access and 2 picnic sites is located across the road from the campground. East Shore campers can use this day use area without paying an additional fee. Loon Lake is a 260-acre lake that is 2 miles long and 190 feet deep, offering excellent opportunities for swimming, fishing, and boating. The campground is located approximately 20 miles east of Reedsport and less than an hour from the Oregon Coast. The area provides access to the vast Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area and charming Winchester Bay on the Pacific Ocean. All sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis with a 14-day stay limit.
