About

East Kachess Group Site is a secluded group campground nestled on the eastern shore of Kachess Lake in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. Hemmed in by dense old-growth conifer forest and surrounded by high Cascade peaks, the campground offers an ideal setting for large groups and family gatherings seeking both recreation and relaxation at 2,300 feet elevation. The single group site accommodates up to 100 people and 25 vehicles, making it well-suited for organized groups, reunions, or corporate retreats. Amenities include picnic tables, campfire rings with grills, and vault toilets. No potable water is available, so all campers must bring their own supply. Kachess Lake provides excellent opportunities for fishing rainbow trout, cutthroat trout, and kokanee salmon from boat or shoreline. The area serves as a prime base camp for hiking, swimming, and mountain biking in summer and early fall. The Pacific Crest Trail is accessible from nearby trailheads. Access is via Forest Road 4818, a primitive road requiring careful navigation.
