About

Kelly Pines Campground is an equestrian-focused campground located along Wolf Run, a native trout stream, surrounded by forest including 300+ year old white pine trees. Built in 1928, it is the first recorded recreation site in Allegheny National Forest. The campground serves as the central hub for the Spring Creek Horse Trail system, which offers over 38 miles of designated, marked trails through the forest. The campground features seven sites: two standard sites (1-2) available to all campers, four single equestrian sites (4-7) each with a four-stall horse shed, and one double equestrian site (3) with two four-stall sheds. All sites include a picnic table and fire ring. Horses must use the provided stalls; temporary corrals, pickets, and high-lines are prohibited. Facilities include a vault toilet and potable water from an artesian well via hand pump. A manure bin is available for horse waste disposal, and there is a designated location along the stream for watering horses. The campground is also popular during trout season, with anglers welcome at the two non-equestrian sites.
