About

Tucked away in the Umpqua National Forest, Dumont Creek Campground provides an intimate camping experience with only three sites near where Dumont Creek meets the South Umpqua River. The small size virtually guarantees solitude, and a short trail from camp leads to a rocky beach on a calm stretch of river perfect for wading and cooling off on summer days. This is a primitive, first-come first-served campground. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring, and vault toilets are provided, but there is no potable water on site. Campers must bring all drinking water and pack out all trash. The campground is open year-round and uses a Scan & Pay system via the Recreation.gov app; cash and checks are no longer accepted. OHV/ATV use is prohibited, and cell coverage is nonexistent.
