Dub Patton Pavilion
Open for day-use pavilion reservations. Arkabutla Lake is experiencing substantially lower water levels due to long-term dam repairs. Most boat ramps are closed; only Highway 51 Landing remains open. Day-use facilities remain operational.
From Recreation.gov
Arkabutla Lake will be experiencing substantially lower water levels for an extended period of time. Long-term repairs to Arkbabutla Dam must be completed before water levels can return to normal. This affects boating access and water-based activities on the lake. Many boat ramps are currently closed with Hwy. 51 Landing being the only open ramp. Most day use and campground facilities remain open for public use. For more information, please contact the Arkabutla Lake Field Office at 662-562-6261 or 662-292-1992. About
Dub Patton Pavilion is a day-use recreation area operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on Arkabutla Lake in DeSoto County, Mississippi. The facility offers two reservable group shelters (sites 729 and 763) with electric service, ideal for family reunions, group picnics, and special events. The shelters are situated on the waterfront among rolling hills forested with oak, hickory, beech, sweet gum, and birch trees. The day-use area includes a boat launching ramp, kayak launch, and individual picnic sites. Arkabutla Lake is known for excellent sailing conditions and fishing opportunities, with largemouth bass, bream, catfish, and crappie among the native species. Nearby trails include the Coldwater River Nature Trail System and the Swinging Bridge Nature Trail. This facility is for day use only with reservations from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Overnight camping is not permitted here; campers should book at the adjacent Dub Patton Campground instead.
Directions
From I-55, take the Coldwater, Mississippi exit and proceed west on Scenic Route 304. Follow the signs to the recreation area, located just north of the dam.
