About
Dry Creek Group Campground sits on a scenic peninsula on the southern shore of Whiskeytown Lake, within Whiskeytown National Recreation Area. The campground offers two spacious tent-only group sites nestled in oak woodland, each capable of hosting 20 to 50 campers. Sites feature vault toilets, seasonal potable water, numerous picnic tables, large serving tables, charcoal barbecue grills, cleared fire pit areas, and bear-proof food storage lockers. The 3,200-acre lake provides excellent swimming, kayaking, sailing, paddleboarding, and water skiing. Brandy Creek Beach is located one mile away with sandy beaches and a large swimming area. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, the beach area offers cold outdoor showers, a store with food and supplies, and paddleboard and kayak rentals. Boats may be launched at nearby Brandy Creek Marina. The surrounding forested backcountry offers opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, gold panning, and fishing. The trailhead for Brandy Creek Falls is four miles away. Whiskeytown Lake lies at the convergence of the Klamath Mountains, Cascade Range, and Coast Range, creating diverse wildlife and landscapes.
