Dosewallips State Park Campground

Open — Open year-round for camping. During winter (November 15 through March 15), the campground is winterized with water only available at sites 21-29 and at the dump station. The day use area is closed through April 30, 2026 due to flooding issues.

Dosewallips State Park Campground is a 425-acre year-round camping park uniquely positioned where the Dosewallips River meets Hood Canal in Jefferson County, Washington. With 5,500 feet of saltwater shoreline on Hood Canal and 5,400 feet of freshwater shoreline along the Dosewallips River, the park offers diverse recreational opportunities for both day visitors and campers. The campground features cabins, standard campsites, and utility sites that can accommodate RVs and trailers up to 40 feet in length. All camp areas are grassy and located in scenic, rustic settings among evergreen trees with views toward the Olympic Mountains. Amenities include restrooms with showers, drinking water, fire pits, picnic tables, a kitchen shelter, an amphitheater, and a dump station. During winter months (November 15 through March 15), the campground is winterized with limited water availability. Visitors can enjoy a wide range of activities including shellfishing for clams, oysters, and crabs on Hood Canal, freshwater and saltwater fishing, swimming in the river, hiking, and beach exploration. Wildlife viewing is exceptional, with resident elk herds known to wander through the campground. Summer months feature ranger-led campfire programs on most weekends. The park's unique combination of saltwater and freshwater ecosystems makes it a diverse destination for outdoor enthusiasts year-round.

Directions

Dosewallips State Park is located off Highway 101 in Brinnon, Washington. From Shelton, drive north on Hwy. 101 for 40 miles and follow signs to the park entrance. From Hwy. 104, exit onto Hwy. 101 and drive south 20 miles to the signed park entrance.
