Dosewallips State Park Campground

About

Dosewallips State Park occupies 425 acres at the confluence of the Dosewallips River and Hood Canal, providing a rare combination of saltwater tidelands, freshwater river access, and forested uplands on Washington's Olympic Peninsula. The campground features 97 sites accommodating tents and RVs up to 40 feet, with options ranging from standard tent sites to partial hookups (water and electric) and full hookups including sewer. Platform tents and cabins are also available for those seeking a roof overhead. Wildlife is a defining feature of this park. A resident elk herd regularly wanders through the campground, and campers should maintain 100 feet of distance and never feed them. The park offers over 5 miles of hiking trails through diverse ecosystems, access to Hood Canal for clamming and saltwater fishing, and the Dosewallips River for steelhead and salmon fishing. Facilities include flush restrooms with showers, a dump station, firewood sales, kitchen shelter, and an amphitheater for ranger programs. The campground operates year-round with reservations available through washington.goingtocamp.com. During winter months (November 15 through March 31), water is turned off at most sites except sites 21-29, which remain winterized with water access. A winter water supply is also available near the dump station.

Directions

From US Highway 101, the park entrance is located at milepost 306 approximately 1 mile south of Brinnon, Washington. The park is on the east side of Highway 101 at the mouth of the Dosewallips River where it meets Hood Canal.
