About

Dinosaur State Park Picnic Shelter is a day-use rental facility located at one of North America's largest dinosaur track sites in Rocky Hill, Connecticut. The park preserves over 750 early Jurassic dinosaur footprints viewable inside a geodesic dome exhibit center. The picnic shelter offers a dedicated space for group gatherings, picnics, and cookouts during park hours. The 28x28-foot octagon-shaped shelter includes four large picnic tables and accommodates up to 40 people. Propane stoves, charcoal grills, and park-provided grills are permitted. Handicapped accessible restrooms are available in the adjacent exhibit center. The shelter rental does not include museum admission. This facility is strictly day-use only. Guests may use the shelter from 8:00 a.m. until 30 minutes before sunset and must depart before dark. No overnight camping is permitted anywhere in Dinosaur State Park. Visitors can also enjoy two miles of nature trails and an arboretum featuring over 250 plant species at no charge.
