About

Delintment Lake Campground sits along the shore of a 62-acre reservoir in Malheur National Forest at approximately 5,600 feet elevation. The two-loop layout provides 29 campsites with varied settings, from waterfront spots to elevated sites overlooking the lake. Sixteen pull-through sites accommodate smaller RVs and trailers up to 20 feet, while five walk-in tent sites offer more secluded camping. Each site includes a fire ring, pedestal grill, and picnic table. The campground serves as a hub for fishing, swimming, and non-motorized boating. A fishing pier and dam provide easy shore access for anglers targeting stocked rainbow trout. A sandy beach area offers swimming opportunities, though visitors should be aware that warm weather can trigger blue-green algae blooms. A trail follows the lakeshore for hiking and wildlife observation. Paved road access from Burns via Highway 20 and Forest Road 41 makes the 42-mile drive manageable for most vehicles. Campground hosts are present during summer months. This is a pack-it-in, pack-it-out facility with no trash service. Potable water from hand pumps is typically available from late May through mid-October when the system is operational.
