About

Located next to one of the most popular creeks in Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Deep Creek Group Camp provides traditional primitive camping with stunning mountain scenery. The camp offers three group sites, each accommodating 7-20 people, with grills, picnic tables, and campfire rings. At an elevation of 1,800 feet in the southeastern portion of the park, the area experiences mild winters and hot, humid summers. Deep Creek runs on the edge of the campground, providing easy access to fishing, wading, and tubing. An easy 1.6-mile roundtrip hike leads to two beautiful waterfalls: Tom Branch Falls along Deep Creek Trail and the 25-foot Indian Creek Falls. The park offers extensive backcountry fishing opportunities with trout in abundance. This is a tent-only facility with no trailers, campers, or wheeled camping units allowed. Flush toilets and drinking water are available, but there are no showers or hookups. Generators are prohibited in the group camp. Reservations are required and can be made through Recreation.gov up to six months in advance.
