About

Deep Creek Campground offers traditional primitive camping along one of the most popular waterways in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The campground features 92 individual sites equipped with picnic tables, fire rings, and grills, providing a comfortable base camp for exploring the southeastern section of the park. The campground's proximity to Deep Creek makes it ideal for water-based recreation, including tubing, wading, and fishing for trout in the cool mountain waters. Hikers can access numerous trails directly from the campground, including an easy 1.6-mile roundtrip to Tom Branch Falls and Indian Creek Falls. The park's 800+ miles of maintained trails offer everything from short walks to strenuous backcountry treks. Deep Creek Campground provides flush toilets and drinking water but no hookups or showers. The area experiences moderate winters and hot, humid summers, with spring wildflowers and vibrant fall colors providing stunning seasonal displays. Wildlife viewing is popular throughout the park, with approximately 1,500 black bears calling the Smokies home. The campground is located 3 miles from Bryson City, which offers nearby services and supplies.
