About

Smokemont Group Camp provides an ideal base for group camping excursions in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Located at 2,200 feet elevation in the North Carolina section of the park, the campground offers three tent-only group sites that can accommodate parties of 7 to 20 people. Each site features tent pads, fire rings, grills, four picnic tables, and lantern holders. Flush toilets and potable water with sinks are available seasonally. The campground is surrounded by the stunning biodiversity of the Smokies, with over 800 miles of maintained trails accessible nearby, including the Smokemont Loop Trail and Bradley Fork Trail. The Bradley Fork River offers opportunities for trout fishing and wading. Wildlife viewing is popular, with roughly 1,500 black bears living in the park. All food must be stored in sealed vehicles when not in use. Generators are prohibited in the group camping area. Quiet hours are 10 pm to 6 am. Campfires are permitted only in established fire rings, and only USDA-certified heat-treated firewood may be brought in, though campers may collect dead and downed wood in the park. Stays are limited to 14 consecutive nights.
