About
Cutthroat Trout Campground is a small, no-fee BLM-managed site located along the scenic Blackfoot River east of Blackfoot, Idaho. This semi-developed campground offers 3 campsites available on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservation system in place. The campground is equipped with vault toilets, picnic tables, fire rings, a horseshoe pit, and a developed put-in/take-out point for river floaters.
The Blackfoot River provides excellent opportunities for fishing, particularly for trout species, and non-motorized boating. The river is a popular destination for kayakers and rafters looking to experience Class II and III rapids along the 23-mile stretch. Anglers should be aware of Idaho fishing regulations, which include special limits on cutthroat trout harvest in this area.
As a pack-in, pack-out facility, there are no dumpsters on site, so visitors must bring all trash with them when they leave. Campground rules and regulations are posted at the site. The location offers a peaceful riverside camping experience with basic amenities for those seeking a quiet retreat along one of southeastern Idaho's premier river corridors.
