About
Gravel Creek Campground occupies a peaceful valley at approximately 6,700 feet in the Caribou-Targhee National Forest, managed by the Montpelier Ranger District. Located northeast of Soda Springs near the Idaho-Wyoming border, the campground offers 12 single-family sites nestled among pine and aspen forests along the gentle slopes of the Bear River Range.
Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring, with vault toilets available during the operating season. No potable water is available, so campers must bring adequate supplies. There is no trash service; all garbage must be packed out. The campground is accessed via gravel roads and is suitable for tents and small trailers.
The area offers opportunities for hiking, horseback riding, hunting, and fishing in nearby streams. The campground operates first-come, first-served with no reservations. After the regular season ends, the area remains accessible until snow closes access, though facilities are unavailable during this period.
